Birdwatching Site Maps

Hello,

This page seeks to catalogue maps of some of the more well-known birding sites in the county.  For many birders these sites will already be familiar, but where possible we intend to include landmarks or local names on the maps so that the locations of interesting birds are easier to appreciate and locate.

The following maps relate to Pitsford Reservoir, Daventry Country Park/Borough Hill Country Park, Hinton Airfield, the Catesby area, Kentle Wood (Daventry), Ecton Sewage Farm/Cogenhoe Mill, Harlestone, Cransley and Thorpe Malsor Reservoirs, Wicksteed Park (with assistance from Nick Parker), Polebrook Airfield and Ashton Wold, Clifford Hill Pits (and Abington Meadows) with assistance from Bob Bullock, Bucknell Wood and Hazelborough Forest, Stortons Pits and Sixfields Lake, Edgcote, Ringstead Pits, Thrapston Pits (including Titchmarsh Reserve) with assistance from Nick Parker, Badby Woods and Fawsley Park, the Fermyn Wood complex, Sywell Country Park, Boddington Reservoir (with assistance from Gary Pullan), Ditchford Pits (west, central and east sections), Stanford Reservoir with assistance from Adam Homer, Deene Lake, Blatherwycke Lake, Fineshade Wood, Wakerley Great Wood, the Blueberry Farm set-aside complex near Maidwell, Harrington (disused) Airfield, Stanwick Pits, Summer Leys LNR, Salcey Forest, Hollowell Reservoir, Ravensthorpe Reservoir, Welford and Sulby Reservoirs and Naseby Reservoir. All have kindly been compiled by Neil Hasdell with the exception of Ditchford East as created by the former warden for the reserve Ian Wilson.
